Jintia works across three connected areas: culture and knowledge, territorial protection, and food sovereignty and well-being. Together, these areas support community-led work that strengthens Shiwiar life across generations.

Culture, Community, and Knowledge
Jintia supports cultural gatherings, learning between elders and young people, intercultural education, and exchanges of knowledge between communities.
It also supports the formation of Jintia community groups that help carry work forward locally with guidance from elders. This creates space for Shiwiar language, knowledge, cultural practice, and community responsibility to be lived and passed on.
Territory Protection and Living Corridors
Jintia supports community-led planning to identify, map, and care for places with ecological and cultural importance. These can include salt licks, fruit forests, palm forests, clean watersheds, wetlands, waterfalls, giant ceibo trees, caves, and other sacred places.
The work also includes community agreements for the responsible use of resources, identifying areas for cultivation, hunting, conservation, and community growth, and pursuing protection for connectivity corridors and community ways of life.
Food Sovereignty and Well-Being
Jintia supports food systems, learning, and practical community projects that sustain daily life. This includes AJA Milenaria, organic cultivation, food processing for household use and local markets, medicinal plants, native species, environmental education, and community infrastructure.
This work supports children, youth, families, and elders through initiatives that bring food, health, learning, and local opportunities together with culture and territory.
Projects in Development
Jintia is developing community-led initiatives that support Shiwiar communities and care for the territory. These priorities are guided by local knowledge, community participation, and respect for culture and nature.
Community Conservation & Biodiversity Monitoring
Strengthening community capacity to observe and monitor fauna, flora, and biodiversity, generating knowledge from the territory to support conservation.
Territorial Mapping & Management
Supporting community-led mapping and territorial management to strengthen knowledge, care, and protection of Shiwiar territory.
Environmental Education
Developing environmental education activities with children, youth, and families that encourage care for the Amazon and its biodiversity.
Sustainable Community Enterprises
Supporting community-led initiatives that create economic opportunities while maintaining and protecting forests and territory.
Shiwiar Cultural Strengthening
Strengthening Shiwiar culture, identity, knowledge, and worldview, with particular attention to passing knowledge between generations.
